2016 Presidential Election

By Adrienne Marie - June 23, 2016

This is the first and probably last thing I will write regarding the 2016 election. But I think it's important enough to voice my opinion.

It's ok to vote for Hillary. It's ok to vote for Trump. It's ok to vote for WHOEVER YOU WANT. But it is NOT ok to NOT VOTE. We live in a country where we are free to vote for whoever we want! It is our privilege and duty to vote. Isn't that awesome!? We can all disagree on who we believe is best suited to become President of the United States, but
we all have the opportunity to vote for an elected official based on what we believe.

As for Christians, voting is BIBLICAL. We are Biblically commanded to vote and pray for our leaders. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 says,

"I urge, then first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving be made for all people- for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth."

We live in the United States of America where we are blessed to freely speak about our leaders without fear of being oppressed or persecuted. Christians in other countries suffer under governments where Christians have no voice and have no power to change the government. They preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ at the risk of their own lives! We are blessed to live in a country where we CAN vote for whoever God leads us to vote for, through prayer and study of Scripture.

God knows what is to come, NOTHING is a surprise to Him and He most definitely has the power to work through any person or situation.

Educate yourself and go vote on November 8th! For my fellow Virginians, you can register to vote or register for absentee voting here. For my friends in any other state, you can click here to register!
